PART 1
A person sitting on a stone bench; a person with long shiny red hair; a person with negative emotions on her face; a girl… There she is, just sitting there, glaring at the ground like it’s all she wants to see or her blue eyes just doesn’t want to look somewhere else.
It’s raining. But still, she just sat there. Tayumi, that’s her name, which had called her for 16 years. And she doesn’t seem to get tired of it, or maybe beginning to…
It’s nighttime already; it’s dark; and she still sits there - on the stone bench, under the rain, under the dark clouds that covered the moon that could be the only source of her light.
Her fists are shut tight over her knees; her head is tilted down, unrevealing her face to the scene.
…What’s the matter with her? …An obvious phrase could be related to the answer - love hurts; love lost. …Another person joined in the scene bringing an umbrella with him. That person walked over to Tayumi and said, “Excuse me? You’re soaked.”
Tayumi heard the man talking to her. Acting so rudely, she didn’t get up to meet the man; she just stayed still - still looking at the ground that now has been occupied by two feet. She just plainly stared into his shoes then to his socks. …His socks.
“I know that.” She finally responded.
The guy slightly rolled his eyes and indifference plastered his face. How strange to find someone alone in the garden in the middle of the campus. And even stranger, this person is a girl, a female, a lady, a woman, who is recently acting so stubborn. “Ehem…” he added his voice along the sound of the rain. “Would you like to share my umbrella?” he offered.
Again, the sound of the rain was the only thing that’s left. It took a couple of minutes before a respond from her could be heard, “…not really.”
‘How stubborn…’ he thought. He raised his eyebrow not exactly knowing what to say next. He half expected her to react that way…but due to the rain and the lack of comfort of the scene, he sort of expected her to react positively - by taking his offer. Even so, she didn’t.
“I’m fine.” She said.
“You don’t seem like it.” He argued.
She tightened her fists and felt a little irritancy. She knows he’s just being concerned but she already said no, why keep on insisting? “I am!” she raised her voice a little.
‘So stubborn…’ he thought. Like the obvious, he just said, “ok ok. Take care, miss. You might get sick.” Then his next and last word followed, “bye.”
After that, the guy left the scene. Then once again, Tayumi was left alone in the garden placed in the middle of the campus. She sort of loved it there - even if it’s dark and raining. She also fancied the campus, even if it’s sort of far away from her house, she still feels positive towards it - University of Funko Po-ass.
Finally, she decided to leave the stone bench. She stood. Her height is nearly 5’2. She walked nonchalantly towards the campus gates.
Tayumi really found it hard to go home - considering the rain. It takes her 1 hour and 30 minutes to go home - that’s the average duration.
She waited by the street outside the campus for a cab. …Before she knew it, 10 minutes have already passed and still no sign of a cab. Then a filthy bus happened to pass by and she raised her hand to call it. As the bus stopped in front of her, mud splashed at her. “DARN!” she exclaimed in anger. She stepped on the bus. She looked around and found no vacant seat. No choice, she had to stand up. Before she could take a grip on a bar, the bus rapidly moved. It nearly made her fall to the ground.
All the while she was in the bus, she couldn’t think of something else but her misfortune in the crappy game of love. Love hurts; love lost. A man she nearly fell in love with left her for another woman. She did everything while the other did nothing, but still, she won his heart and Tayumi just got hurt. Life is so unfair.
After her exhausting uncomfortable ride, she finally got home with her face soaked in rain…or tears? It couldn’t be determined.
